Are you looking for an entertaining way for your children to learn to read? If you have children aged 5-9 that want to learn to read then 101 Animal Jokes for Kids : Using Sight Words is for you. The author has been teaching for over 15 years and is a parent of school aged children. This book is a fully illustrated eBook, for ages 5-9. Children love this book because of the eye catching illustrations and the funny jokes. Parents and teachers have been using this book as read aloud book or as a self-read book for older children.

Sight words make up over 50% general writing and are the most frequently used words in the English language. Therefore, learning sight words is a crucial goal to learning how to read by the 3rd grades. These words can not be “sounded out”, and hence must be learned by sight. This book includes over 200 sight words. This list includes words for children in prekindergarten up to 3rd Grade.

Concepts in this book have been used since the 1940’s by teachers, parents, and counselors to teach reading skills. Illustrations are vibrant and delightful to keep children’s attention. The text is well written and delivers easy-to-digest information.

This book provides parents, teachers, and counselors with an entertaining way to teach children how to identify sight words. This book uses similar words found in PBS kids, raz kids, funbrain, and starfall books. The books includes a sight words list that can be used to make flashcards. The book contains a free gift to help your child read. This book may be free for Amazon Prime members.

The authors of the New York Times bestselling Awkward Family Photos franchise shine a light on the awkwardness of childhood. Warning: May cause uncontrollable laughter, snorting, and milk-spewing awkward moments for parents and kids alike.

Life isn’t perfect, and things don’t always go as planned. Like when you try to feed yourself and the food ends up all over your clothes. Or when you try to ride a bike and end up taking an epic spill. Or when you try to go potty and end up in the potty!

But laughing at ourselves makes it all a little easier, and a whole lot more entertaining. So go ahead and embrace all of life’s awkward moments. Because nobody’s perfect…but everyone’s awkward.

“(Mostly) totally awkward fun.” —Kirkus Reviews

When twelve-year-old McKenzie McIntyre orders a magical kit from a mysterious website, her dream of middle school greatness quickly turns into a snogbugger of a mess. To McKenzie, the kit is the perfect solution. Probably her only shot at transforming Evan Jacoby, the hunkadoodledoo of Kingsley Junior High, into her Prince Charming . . . But powerful magic comes with consequences—and it isn’t just her crush and her future popularity that’s at risk, but her mom’s trust and her best friend’s respect too.

With a mom who’s more interested in saving the planet than raising her, and an MIA, whale-chasing member of Greenpeace for a dad, McKenzie’s parents don’t seem to get her. Pile on a bad case of writer’s block globbing up her author dreams, and it’s obvious McKenzie needs just this ONE THING in her life to work. But as her expectations for The Prince Charming Starter Kit intensify, the magic spirals out of control. With its promise to “bring out the true heart of any would-be prince,” McKenzie’s determined to prove that Evan is the real deal . . . even if her best friend isn’t so sure about his true character. The kit does come with a caution: Toadies aren’t Princely; Toadies aren’t Charming; Only Princes are Princely; Heed now this warning.

Middle school life is never dull, but McKenzie is about to find out just how un-boring it can get.

“Prepare to be conquered by the world’s funniest supervillain”
– Lincoln Peirce, author of the BIG NATE series

Greetings, goobers! After my latest experiment worked a little too well—transforming my rather fetching figure into something significantly smaller—I’ve been forced to return to those halls of horror better known as . . . school. But going back to junior high may be my greatest opportunity for mayhem in many a month! Try to keep up as I:

   • Dramatically defeat the daily dangers of schooldom—even though everyone is against me.
   • Strive to win the junior high presidential election by alerting my fellow students to the wonderfulness of Vordak the Incomprehensible, as well as the yuck-ness of my opponent, Marlena Lurchburger.
   • Mastermind a catastrophic career day, where that disgusting do-gooder Commander Virtue will finally, fiendishly be foiled.

Fortunately for you, I have recorded every mischievous moment within these carefully crafted covers so that you may bask in my brilliance as I plot to RULE THE SCHOOL . . . and, eventually, THE WORLD! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!

Read Review
a darned good read” – The Comics Journal

In 1939, Vincent Trout Hamlin had been writing and drawing the successful Alley Oop for more than five years. In Alley Oop, Hamlin created a unique concept, marrying his fascination with dinosaurs and prehistoric times to a rollicking style of storytelling and drawing that was simultaneously serious, fantastic, and loaded with slapstick. The series was set in the kingdom of Moo and starred Alley Oop, the club-wielding caveman, his girlfriend Ooola, friends Dinny the dinosaur and Foozy (who speaks in rhyme), plus Oop’s rival, King Guz, and Guz’s Queen Umpateedle. Yet Hamlin knew that the strip’s horizons in Moo were limited. So it was, in early 1939, that Alley Oop and Ooola see a mysterious box and, to the utter amazement of Guz and his minions, promptly fade from view, followed by the caption: “Dear Reader: you must now say goodbye to Moo…if you are to follow Alley Oop in this strangest of many strange adventures. — V. T. Hamlin”. Oop and Ooola had entered a time machine and were now living in the modern day 20th Century! Their host was the inventor of the time machine, Dr. Elbert Wonmug! No change of such magnitude had ever occurred in a continuing newspaper strip, and readers responded enthusiastically. With every time period in history available as a backdrop, Alley Oop became even more popular.

This volume features Oop’s final Moo adventure, followed by his trips to the 20th Century and ancient Greece, where he and Ooola share adventures with brave Ulysses, the lovely Helen of Troy, and the mighty Hercules. V.T. Hamlin would send his characters everywhere and everywhen — but the classic Alley Oop begins with the stories contained in this volume. The book is introduced by Michael T. Price, who first met V. T. Hamlin in the 1960s and remained friendly with him for the rest of the cartoonist’s life. Price also composed the musical score for Hip Pocket Theatre’s production, Alley Oop.

Like a lot of 12-year old kids, Ben Boomer finds his family embarrassing. Unlike a lot of kids, Ben’s family consists of professional wrestlers who embarrass him on national television. That’s the premise of “The Adventures of Hairball & ‘Hot Flash’ Granny”.

All his life Ben Boomer has idolized his pro-wrestling parents, Hairball and Psycho Momma. And his greatest hero has always been his wrestling granny, ‘Hot Flash’ Granny. But now that he’s getting older, Ben’s family members don’t seem as cool as they used to. In Ben’s defense, it is rather difficult to climb the middle school social ladder when his granny is whacking his dad with a steel chair on national television.

Ben’s crazy family soon becomes the least of his worries. Terrence Grand, the most popular kid in school, seems to thrive off of picking on Ben and his socially awkward friends. Ben finally has enough and joins the wrestling team so he can beat up Terrence in front of the entire school. Ben regrets his wacky plan, however, when he realizes just how tough wrestling try-outs truly are. In order to face off against his arch-rival, Ben must gain 20 pounds in 4 weeks. Even worse, Terrence’s dad is the wrestling coach… and he does everything he can to make Ben’s life miserable.

Ben’s problems pile up when he’s drawn into a bizarre conspiracy involving his family. Ronald Rump, the evil CEO of Kings Wrestling Federation, has decided to move his juggernaut corporation to Chicago. And he has only one goal in mind: the complete destruction of Hairball and ‘Hot Flash’ Granny’s wrestling company. If Ronald wins the so-called wrestling wars, then Ben’s mom, dad, and granny will be unemployed. Ben also struggles to woo the hottest girl in school, survive Ms. Wolf’s soul-crushing history class, and unite the nerds in a rebellion against Terrence and his army of jocks. Needless to say, poor Ben has a lot of problems, and not a lot of time to solve them.
