Ahoy, mateys! Come aboard the good ship Hispaniola and set sail in search of buried treasure in one of Disney’s most critically acclaimed adventure classics — presented in its original, uncut theatrical version! In his first all-live-action feature, Walt Disney has vividly brought to life Robert Louis Stevenson’s timeless tale of buccaneers and buried gold. Authentic locales, rich color photography, and musket-roaring action set the stage for the stouthearted heroics of young Jim Hawkins (Bobby Driscoll) — and the skullduggery of that wily, one-legged pirate of all pirates, Long John Silver. Aye, for the kind of excitement that only treasure and treachery can bring, there’s no better destination than TREASURE ISLAND!

The king of the jungle needs glasses! Set at an African animal center, the all-family adventure that inspired the TV series Daktari features a valiant veterinarian (Marshall Thompson), heartless gorilla trappers, narrow escapes, lots of laughs and some of the most endearing animals who ever aced their screen tests. Among the merry menagerie: Doris the chimpanzee, Mary Lou the python, and of course Clarence, a genuinely cross-eyed lion who was as lamb-like off screen as on (a grumpier stunt lion filled in for attack scenes). “The best thing about the movie is the amazing work with this lion among all those human actors. Come to think of it, the actors are pretty amazing too” (Toni Mastroianna, Cleveland Press).

Rosalind Russell, Stella Stevens and Susan Saint James star in this high-spirited sequel to the classic comedy The Trouble With Angels. Russell reprises her role as the wry but wise Mother Superior challenged by her fun-loving students. Stevens joins the fun as a modern nun who convinces the Reverend Mother to take the girls on an unforgettable bus trip to a California peace rally. And a very young Saint James co-stars as an irrepressible troublemaker who breaks all the rules?and a few hearts?along the way. Mary Wickes, Milton Berle, Robert Taylor and Van Johnson add divine inspiration to this wholesome and hilarious family film.

This fascinating volume features some of Walt’s most unique animated triumphs. Included are several of Walt’s “The Alice Comedies,” a pioneering series of early short films that combined live-action and animation. These wonderful, lesser-known unique films pre-date much of the work that would make him world-famous. “Alice’s Wonderland” is one of Walt’s very first films. Fans will enjoy the unique animation of “Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom,” which won an Academy Award(r) (Best Short Subject (Cartoon) 1953) and was the first cartoon produced in Cinemascope. This short film established a completely new animation style for the Studio. DISNEY RARITIES, CELEBRATED SHORTS 1920s-1960s showcases a large collection of Walt’s outstanding animated shorts that fans may not be aware of. Bonus features include: “Alice’s Cartoon World” in which Leonard Maltin discusses Disney’s historic “Alice” shorts with Virginia Davis who played the original Alice when she was 4-years old; “From Kansas City to Hollywood” – a timeline of Walt’s silent era; “A Feather In His Collar” a rarely seen short supporting the Community Chest; audio commentary for “A Symposium On Popular Songs” by composer Richard Sherman, and still frame galleries. Introductions by Leonard Maltin.
